7 Recommended Movies of a Dysfunctional Family

“A dysfunctional family is a family in which conflict, misbehavior, and often child neglect or abuse on the part of individual parents occur continually and regularly, leading other members to accommodate such actions. Children sometimes grow up in such families with the understanding that such an arrangement is normal” (Source: Wikipedia).

So here is a little list about recommended movies of a dysfunctional family from my version!

This movie told story about 5 daughters of Lisbon Family who are sheltered by their strict and religious parent. They are not allowed to communicate to world outside their house. Their only communication is with a group of boy through a flashlight from their window.

Directed in usual Wes Anderson style, which is good, The Royal Tenenbaum is artsy story of a fully dysfunctional familiy that shattered after the father left the children and the wife without really divorced by law. The Children forced to be back to their family after the father is terminally ill.

What makes this movie great are; its how the actors and actresses act and the strong script, strong conversation between the family member. This movie is a total drama, but somehow the problems and secrets among the family, which by the family member is avoided, brought out by the dysfunctional mother played by Meryl Streep.

4 children in Japan abandoned by their own reckless and irresponsible mother. They forced to struggle to their life on their own without adult supervision. This movie is about super black tragedy which is surprisingly heartbreaking, adapted from a true event in Japan.
